  • Hi C riders - this will be our last chance to ride as a group before the second lockdown. So, key to the route was to choose a favourite coffee stop - my choice: Croughton Tea Rooms (I will try to book a table but as they are closed Monday/Tuesday, I may not be able to confirm this before Wednesday morning. If they decide to close this week, we can fall back on the Stratton Barn).
The route is a slightly longer version of our ride last Sunday taking in a few more villages as you can see on the route map below (40 miles with coffee stop at 20 miles).

    Route file:/45068271

Weather forecast is really good with full sun all morning with a slight NW breeze. However, if roads are wet, please have mudguards on your bikes.

At the Swan Pool (Assemble Point C) & the cafe stop we will be complying with the Covid 19 rules by maintaining a 2mtr distancing and will not be exceeding the maximum number of 6 riders in a group to comply with British Cycling guidelines. Make sure you have a Face-covering in your pocket and that should be worn to respect the cafe personnel.

If you want to ride, please hit the "I'm attending" button to help us manage numbers for ride leaders and the cafe stop.

  • Table booked for 6 - 2 spaces left - press that button to avoid disappointment!

  • I will try to get us a second table at Croughton so please keep hitting the attending button if you would like to join this ride

  • Hi Niall should I just put myself up for the B ride as there’s 7 of us at present?

  • Oh I see that’s now full too 🤔

  • We will probably split into 2 groups as there is an eighth person coming as a guest

  • Hi Corinne- no problem, as Chris suggests, we can ride as 2 groups

  • Niall. Just looked at the map for tomorrow. I see you are going to the Aynho junction. There is a quieter road into Croughton if you take the turn just before the 17 mile marker. Just a thought

  • Thanks Glynnis - I thought there was a quieter road than the B4031 - just couldn't remember which way we rode last time!

  • Sorry going to wimp out. Still a hard frost here. Pity because it looks like a lovely day - I'll probably go out later.
